Twitlet FAQ
How To Post Webpages?
Simply use the words, #link or #this in your tweets. Twitlet will change these words with currently browsed page's url before posting it to Twitter for you. It will also shorten urls to aproximately
15 16-20 characters each. So you can post web pages with very long urls without any worries.
Why Can't I See Other People's Updates?
Twitlet bookmarklet's only purpose is to quickly update your status. It's also likely to be the easiest way of posting to Twitter while you're surfing. Basicly it is designed (and only) for fast updating.
Is it secure?
Yes and No. Twitlet is storing your username and password in the bookmarklet code on your browser for fast and simple updating. This means if other people have access to your computer they can send messages to your Twitter account. Your username and password are encrypted to ensure that even if someone sees your bookmarklet's source code, she can't easily remember or guess it. Obviously that wont be that hard for a person to decode it (with enough experience in cryptology.) So you should only use it at your own risk.
Do you store my login details?
No. Your bookmarklet is created on the fly with your username and password capsulated in it. Once you remove it from your browser you need to create a new one.
I got one but it is not working!
Currently there is no account validation during Twitlet bookmark creation so make sure you typed your username and password correctly. Also you know that Twitter displays a blue whale when something went wrong on their side, right? Sometimes it happens and
Twitlet is so tiny so it doesn't have enough space to show a whale or even a flea. you'll get a message from Twitlet server telling you about a heavy blue whale.
Why am I being redirected to a blank page?
You're probably on Safari browser. Twitlet only functions if your browser is loaded and showing a web page. Even an "about:blank" page is fine.
Can I create more than one?
Yes. You can create as many Twitlets as you like and use them all at the same time. Twitlets actually work perfect for people using multiple Twitter accounts. You don't have to switch between authentication screens with Twitlet.
All above are fake FAQ written by myself. If you have other (real) questions or suggestions I would be more than happy to hear them. Please visit Twitlet's Uservoice page for posting your questions, feedbacks and reporting issues. Have a nice day!
